Customers are at the heart of our business and our stakeholders consider this to be one of our material issues, hence customer satisfaction forms one of our strategic priorities. In 2018 we scored 90% customer satisfaction, which is on track for our 2020 target of 90%. .
To provide the best service to our clients, we employ the best supply chain partners, who understand our culture and can meet, or exceed, our clients’ needs. We also acknowledge that our choices can have an impact on the world around us. To minimise these our material standards cover categories in which we make significant purchases and that have the highest risk. Our standards deal with human rights and environmental issues, ensuring we remain compliant with industry standards and focus on operating a safe and sustainable business.
Supply Chain Sustainability School
As a founder member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) we continue to support SCSS and look to increase the number of our supply chain partners who participate by 10%. Last financial year, the number of our supply chain partners which signed up to the school increased by 18% to 2,215.

At the 2017 awards Kier was shortlisted in seven of the nine BIG categories and won three awards. These included Pollinator, Maintenance and Management and BIG Biodiversity Champion.
At Kier we are committed to finding innovative solutions to minimise our environmental impact. Since March 2017 there have been over 150 company car orders for electric vehicles. 23% of orders are now for electric or hybrid vehicles.
Making Ground is an on-going initiative, developed and administered solely by Kier to provide practical support for people who find getting back into employment challenging - in this case prisoners.
