Since the event, Kier, City Wide Plumbing and Heating Services, JV-UK Security Ltd and Viewpoint Research have all committed to learning and development programmes, including:

  • Supporting the development of skills and capacity of existing staff through apprenticeship training and work-based learning programmes for 18 individuals
  • Providing two full-time apprenticeship vacancies, with potentially two more in the pipeline
  • Giving an individual on a work programme some much needed work experience.

Kier Building Maintenance East regional director, Simon Bullen, commented: “Our determination to make a tangible contribution to the future social and economic success of the city remains as strong as ever especially during the current monetary climate.
